New Stuff

Here's what 9 cheapo mini spots can do to a new prop. This guy is of course inspired by Pumpkinrot's 2007 haunt. Kyle liked him better undressed, but I told him that the mystery of what's underneath is what is important to me. I hope I get the light animation down for this year's haunt. I might be a static prop haunter, but my lighting will be a bit, um, dynamic.

  1. Killer!! Really fantastic work! :D

Can I ask where you got the mini spots? *bats eyelashes* I've been looking everywhere for these.

  2. I ordered them from Jack's tool shed. They don't seem to be carrying them right now though.

  4. Great job! That's one dramatic skeleton. I love when people work lights into their props!

  5. Ohh! That is great! Lighting is my nemesis, and you did a fantastic job.

  6. It's amazing how bright those spots can be, but it's a royal PITA going around turning them on and off. Last year I ended up making dozens of LED spotlights that I run off a computer supply to great effect and it takes just one switch to turn 'em on and off!

For those looking for the mini spots, check with your local dollar store as they typically carry them. I've seen them by the dozens at Dollar Tree.

  7. I agree Rich. I only use them for testing ideas indoors. I am in the process of making my own wired LED spots that will run using the free Vixen software.
