TSA Approved?

Its too bad I can't bring my toys with me on my trip to the town of a million blinky lights. Good thing I got a lot of nerd time in tonight. I have 30 functional distinct channels; each LED represents a string of flood lights, eyeballs, or pumpkin faces.

Positive Feedback

Halloween night is a big night at my house and there is a certain level of stress when you go all out. To be honest, I had heard Michael Jackson's Thriller hundreds of times while I sequenced the light show in Vixen Lights and after three nights of running the show, I didn't watch this video the whole way through until today. The video quality is poor, but catching some reactions to the display was so worth it to me. This one is priceless. Click the photo to go to YouTube for the video.

The Great Mystery Solved

Image
Kyle and I moved into this house in Autumn 2008. The place was probably a little prefab or partially prefab HUD home from the 50's. It's a simple home, a simple rectangle on a double city lot. It is completely utilitarian and it suits us just fine. Just like any home that has been well lived in before it's current occupants, our has some interesting stories that we couldn't figure out.  For instance, the pantry shelves came pre-labeled. We obviously don't follow the protocol. Check out this closeup. and this one What the hell is a 60's Song? Kyle and I figured we'd never know. That all changed last night while I was finishing up in the garden when a car slowed as it passed the house and then did a U-turn and came back. The lady in the car told me she used to live here. She lived here for about 15 years. She told me how the place was a former HUD home that she and her former husband had purchased years ago. It was a mess, the windows were rot...

The Haunted Garden

Image
The Haunted Garden I've never run across this haunt before and it looks pretty cool. It also appears to be in Montgomery County, near DC, where The Blair Witch Project was filmed. There are lots of pictures at the link above.

Here's Me With a Chicken

This is me holding Jellybean (I hope I got the name right), during a wonderful tour of Victoria and Kim's amazing garden. I'm not a photographer, so I didn't get a lot of photos, but I really liked this little walkway and the use of blue in the garden. And their FISH! They were humongous. The big one in the middle must have been about 14" long. The little ones (at 5-6 inches) are the same kind I have. They were really neat to visit.  The whole visit was due to being bloggers and we have checked out each other's gardens and my Halloween display. The internet is a great way to meet people. Emily and Jason who I've also met via Blogger drove is to today's garden party. Oh, and Victoria made the most amazing cupcakes, it was the best cupcake I ever ate.
