Gone Feral In Idaho

I turn this bad boy in tomorrow. I've had it almost 5 years, and it shows some wear. The exciting news is that I am moving to Investigations Supervisor and I'll get a new badge. I have a lot to do and to learn. Luckily the deputies I work with are a great bunch, so they should make my job easy. Just this afternoon I parted ways with my beloved Electra SuzyQ. It was the most bad-ass bike I've ever had. I bought it when I moved into my dream neighborhood at the time in 2005. My roommate had a really cool cruiser too, we rode all over town turning heads. With the money I made from the sale I am almost half way funded for a new bike that I plan to use to get to work. I did take the SuzyQ around the block one last time and a local patrol officer I've worked with passed by with the biggest smile on his face seeing me on such an outrageous bike. The person that bought it is sure to get more fun out of it and I hope to see her riding it around town.

I've never watched Gray's Anatomy, but I've seen Brandi Carlile twice.  The first time I saw her and the band, I'd never heard of them, they are amazing  in concert- true entertainers.  When I first started out working in the morgue I was a forensic technician assisting autopsies.  Doing my work often evokes all sorts of emotions-disgust, compassion, anxiety, compassion- I always seem to go back to compassion.  I would spend hours in the morgue, cleaning, prepping, assisting, handling personal effects, collecting evidence... too many things to list.  This song was often played on the boom box back there.  If you really listen to the words, you might understand how they apply directly to my work and how humbling the whole experience can be.  Here's a link to the official video of the song that sounds better but didn't fit the visual for my purpose. This Article  explains how we do this.  In my jurisdiction my office does the notifications, not the police.  We work alone, so I'm all on my own-no partner.  The holidays make notifications so much worse because people are nostalgic about this time of year.  I know its a depressing subject, but it is interesting, at least to me.   You never know how people will react.  One time I had a woman yell through the door "just so you know, I have a loaded gun" .  I told her to please set it down and showed her by badge and credentials.  She ended up being the nicest woman.  Other times you get asked into the home or need to seat someone down so they don't pass out.  I get dogs jumping on me, cats rubbing my legs, and my favorite-thick cigarette smoke.  I had a girl take a swing at me, I had a nice old man hug me.  I even had one lady say "Good!  I'm glad he's dead, he was an asshole!"  One tim...

Types of Meningitis There are basically four different types of meningitis.  In general, they are classified by their cause: viral (virus), bacterial (bacteria), fungal (fungus), or amoebic (amoeba).  Viral meningitis is the most common of the types of meningitis, and is typically less serious than bacterial (which has a high fatality rate).  The most common viral attack is typically from the  coxsackie  and  echovirus (two viruses that are part of a group called  enterovirus  – which is the group that contains the polio virus).
