I think "Sixth Sense" changed it for me. "The Others" was really good too. I have "The Innocents" (1961) on my coffee table to watch any day now. The cover for "The Haunting" looks familiar- if it's not already on my Amazon Wishlist, I'll definitely add it.trickortreathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16187280549519866534noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3526081679616850203.post-75580463195433602002011-08-27T19:36:48.675-07:002011-08-27T19:36:48.675-07:00i'm with you on fear of the unknown. i've ...i'm with you on fear of the unknown. i've had a really hard time getting scared by horror movies in the last 10 years. maybe i should check out the haunting.

i'd never even heard of trunk or treats before. that sounds pretty lame.Emilyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17114229789417525889noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3526081679616850203.post-31941909247640397332011-08-25T22:39:38.466-07:002011-08-25T22:39:38.466-07:00I totally feel you about Blair Witch. It's very difficult to achieve that sense of the uncanny, because film is such an explicit medium.Mantan Calaverashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01024705691966479703noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3526081679616850203.post-51882731667713293592011-08-25T15:12:19.547-07:002011-08-25T15:12:19.547-07:00I agree that mounting tension and subtle unease is...I agree that mounting tension and subtle unease is the scariest.
